Please define "Illegal Guns"? Wait, no thank you, don't do that.

First off, Kanye and the NRA really? And President Trump. What is going on here?

The topic of gun control came up during a presidential on a Oct 11, 2018 meeting when Kanye West offered his opinion on the nationwide debate over gun violence in America. Here's the quote,

“The problem is illegal guns. Illegal guns is the problem, not legal guns,” West said. “We have the right to bear arms.”

Had we made some rocks illegal, could it have prevented Cain from killing Able? Let's see, rocks that have "the shoulder thing that goes up". That will do it. Or Rocks with pistol grips. Or maybe rocks that look scary? I know, we'll call them "assault rocks" and we can say all assault rocks are now illegal. Ok, now what rocks fit that category? Well, how about all rocks? There, that does it.

Ok, we're back to this? Let's make it clear, people are the issue, not the device.

And the NRA is buying into this? Ok, I'm an NRA member, I pay my dues and contribute. This contribution is one of hopefully constructive criticism. Standing behind West's statement is really no better than standing behind Dianne Feinstein when she wants to redefine guns as "assault weapons" and then get rid of them all. What are you thinking NRA?

Stop criminals from getting guns. Seems simple right? Well, we make it tougher on ourselves for trying to interpret what being loving our neighbor is by our own standards. It's not about showing mercy and grace to those who have committed crimes, its loving them before they commit those crimes.

There are 10 commandments. 3 are focused on how we should treat God, the other 7 is how we should other people. Jesus boiled it down to 2.

-Jesus replied, “‘You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. 39A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’f The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.” Matt 22:37-40 (NLT)

The key is how our hearts are tuned. We need to constantly tune our hearts to care (love) for our neighbor (others) and not conjure up ways to hurt them. Btw, that doesn't mean let the government do it. It means we as individuals do it.

We have so many laws on record that tell us to punish those who will violate the laws we have regarding the mis-treatment of others. This includes using any weapon against them including fire arms. How about we use those laws to the fullest extent every time a person uses a firearm in any crime? Penalty for sin is death. Only Jesus can advocate otherwise. And even in that case, if you are a follower of Christ there may be forgiveness if you ask for forgiveness and repent, but there is still a consequence for sin, at least in this life.

We can't keep thinking people are good. We are not. There is sin and we are going to do bad things. Even if we get rid of illegal weapons. We must love truly love others. If that love is rejected and a crime is committed. pay the consequence. Oh and btw, don't go punishing everyone for the sin of a single individual. Like defining what is an illegal gun is and taking it away from everyone.

Oh and then Kanye says this, “If I decide to do it, it will be done. I’m not gonna try,” West said. “Yes, 100 percent it could happen. 2024.”

West is referring to running for president. at 41 right now West is eligible for presidency. So is it that West didn't want to get in the way of a Trump 2020 bid, so he's waiting for 2024? Oh God please help us.

This is a different topic for another day.
